County Dublin in Song

County Memory

The memory behind Dublin in Song

County Dublin holds the capital city, but also coastline, villages, suburbs, mountains, ports and many layers of Irish life. It is a place of arrival and departure, old streets and new communities, the River Liffey, Dublin Bay, commuter roads, family homes, Georgian doors, sea wind and city memory.

In Ireland in Song, Dublin should not be treated only as a capital. It can become a county of many voices: urban, coastal, historical, ordinary and deeply human. Its songs may move from city streets to harbour paths, from old churches to modern estates, from public memory to small private lives.
